At the beginning of 2017, Comac (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) plans to raise the ground first C919, the largest commercial aircraft designed and built in China.

The Chinese manufacturer says it will complete ground tests and begin flights with COMAC C919, a model that will rival A320 from Airbus and 737 from Boeing. At the same time, it intends to make the first deliveries starting with 2018. In November 2015, COMAC announced orders for 517 C919 units, most of which were ordered by Chinese airlines.

However, let's not forget that the C919 project developed by Comac encountered different problems, pushing the terms of delivery far beyond those initially estimated. Some specialists say that we will see the first C919 aircraft delivered only in 2020.

COMAC C919 is built from parts provided by companies such as Honeywell International Inc, United Technologies Corp subsidiary Goodrich, Rockwell Collins Inc and Parker-Hannifin Corp Parker Aerospace division. The engines are delivered by CFM International.

Currently, COMAC C919 seems to be as good as A320 or B737 from the current generation, but there is a risk that it will get an outdated aircraft at the time of delivery. Recall that Airbus has begun deliveries of the new generation A320neo, and Boeing has already operated the first flight with 737 MAX.

C919 is an ambitious project developed by COMAC, an alternative to Airbus and Boeing aircraft. And as the estimates for ASIA-PACIFIC are optimistic, the need for aircraft will be over 20 000 units over the next 20 years.
