Let's recap what happened on 5 before 2019. Sukhoi Superjet 100 Aeroflot (RA-89098) aircraft landed in flames at Sheremetyevo, Moscow. As a result of this plane crash, 41 people were killed, and 10 others were seriously injured. There were 78 people on board.

The plane had departed for Murmansk at 18: 03 (local time), planning to operate the SU1492 flight. Shortly after takeoff, Sukhoi Superjet 100 Aeroflot was hit by lightning. Following this incident, the pilots decided to return to Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow. From those declared by the pilots, the electrical systems were dropped due to lightning.

The fire started on landing, but not because of lightning. According to some pictures, the pilots operated a hard landing, which led to the landing of the landing gear. The tanks were perforated and so the fire was started. The cabin staff made every effort to evacuate the people from the plane, but the fire spread very quickly, and again XENUMX people died. Okay, there were passengers who made it difficult to evacuate, personal property being more important than the lives of some people.

Criminal case for violation of air traffic safety rules

The investigation is currently underway. Aeroflot cooperates with investigators to determine precisely the causes that led to the plane crash. According to sources close to the investigation, a criminal case was opened in accordance with article 263, paragraph 3 of the Russian Criminal Code. The charges are for violating the rules of air traffic safety and negligence in piloting the aircraft, causing the death of more than 2 persons. The maximum penalty provided for in this article is seven years in prison.

The commander of the criminal investigation is the commander Denis Yevdokimov. The lack of experience in manual piloting of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft would have played a major role in producing the plane crash. The lightning caused damage to the plane, but the pilots should have brought the plane to the ground without any problems. Even if the electronic system was damaged, the manual piloting could be executed without problems.

But there is still a long way to go until the end of the investigation and the final verdict. The lawyers of Commander Denis Yevdokimov requested additional expertise, which concerns the landing gear and materials used in the manufacture of the Sukhoi Superjet 100. We will return in detail!
