Coronavirus: Air Tahiti Nui flies directly on the Papeete-Paris route

Due to travel restrictions imposed by the United States to block the spread of COVID-19 virus, Air Tahiti Nui airline is forced to fly directly on the Papeete-Paris route.

Papeete is the capital and largest city of the French region of French Polynesia. The city is located on the island of Tahiti and has 26.050 inhabitants. Normally Air Tahiti Nui operates flights to Paris with a stopover in Los Angeles.

But the new regulations force the air carrier in Tahiti to choose the direct route. The Boeing 787-9 took off Sunday, local time 03:10 (14:10 pm Paris), on flight TN64. He landed in Paris on March 16, 2020, local time 05:54.

Thus, Papeete-Paris becomes the longest direct domestic route, with over 16:00 hours of flight, over a distance of 15715 kilometers.
