Coronavirus: Brussels Airlines repatriate 9500 Belgians from 14 countries. See how many flights will be operated!

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, European countries have closed their borders and blocked the access of foreign citizens. These measures led to the cancellation of the flights. Thus, thousands of people, mostly tourists, were trapped in different corners of the world. Belgium has 9500 citizens blocked in 14 countries.

Brussels Airlines has announced that it is temporarily suspending commercial operations, between March 21 and April 19, but will operate 56 repatriation flights to bring home all stranded Belgian citizens and company crews. The operation was launched on March 18. The first 4 flights were operated from Agadir and Marrakech, Morocco, each with 180 passengers on board.

Brussels Airlines repatriates 9500 Belgians from 14 countries

Brussels Airlines will keep a few aircraft for special operations carried out in collaboration with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, 56 rescue flights are planned to bring 9.500 Belgians from 14 countries to Brussels, including The Gambia, Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

Brussels Airlines thanks the crew of the flight crew (flight attendants and pilots) for volunteering to kill these special flights during difficult times, making it possible to bring Belgian passengers home.

All Belgians, who are currently abroad and seeking to return to Belgium, are invited to register on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
