Among other things, the resumption of domestic tourism was announced starting with May 3, and other restrictions on foreign tourists will be gradually relaxed, depending on the evolution of the spread of the virus.

The relaxation of the severe measures put in place as a preventive measure against COVID-19 comes amid encouraging figures on how the State of Israel has managed to control the pandemic.

Currently, statistics on the number of coronavirus deaths in Israel show that the country has the lowest mortality rate in the world - 25 deaths per 1 million people, for a total of 219 deaths and 15,870 confirmed cases, of which more than half are already cured, and severe cases account for 2% of the total. In the last 2 weeks, the number of people cured is considerably higher than the number of new infections.  

Domestic tourism in Israel resumes on Sunday, May 3, 2020

Given that tourism is an important component both for the Israeli economy and for the well-being of the citizens of this country, the officials decided to gradually restart this sector as well.

The Bed & Breakfast accommodation units and the so-called “Zimmer” will be opened first, a type of accommodation specific to the Israeli rural area, an idea smaller in size than the B&B, but often more luxurious and which gives more privacy. and tourist comfort. Many of these special accommodation units called Zimmers (there are over 1,500 throughout the country) are located in the Negev Desert and the Sea of ​​Galilee area.
