The Cypriot government updated the list of countries with a high epidemiological risk on 24 May. The "traffic light" system also used by Cyprus is based on data published by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and includes the European Union, the European Economic Area and some third countries.

Travelers arriving from countries on orange list must present the result of a PCR test on arrival in Cypriot territory, a test to be performed no later than 72 hours before arrival in Cyprus. The last countries that have been added to the local list are Romania, the United States of America and Thailand.

Other countries on the orange list are:
- Member States of the European Union: Portugal, Ireland, Finland
- Schengen members: Norway
- Third countries: China (including Hong Kong and Macau), United Kingdom

Travelers entering Cyprus from one of the countries on red list, must present the result of a PCR test on arrival in Cypriot territory, a test to be performed no later than 72 hours before arrival in Cyprus and to perform a second test after arrival.

The "traffic light" system also used by Cyprus includes data for the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area and some third countries.

This list also includes travelers from the following countries:
- Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Croatia, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany, Slovakia
- Microstats: Andorra, Monaco, Vatican, San Marino
- Schengen members: Switzerland, Liechtenstein
- Third countries: Rwanda, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Belarus, Qatar, Serbia, Thailand, Armenia, Georgia, Bahrain

Countries that are not classified in any of the above categories are included on gray list which allows travelers to enter only if they are Cypriot citizens or if they have family members in Cyprus, if they are citizens of Switzerland or citizens of a European or EEA country (Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway). This category also includes persons legally residing in Cyprus and those entitled to enter the country under the Vienna Convention or travelers from third countries who have special permission to enter Cyprus.

Passengers in this category must undergo a PCR test at a certified laboratory, must present the result of a PCR test on arrival in Cypriot territory, a test to be performed no later than 72 hours before arrival in Cyprus. With the exception of EEA persons and other European citizens, all other categories must cover the costs of testing on their own.
