As of September 1, Egypt is requiring a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 infection to all travelers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the Egyptian authorities have announced that, as of September 1, 2020, all air passengers entering Egypt, through any airport, regardless of the state from which they travel, must present a negative molecular test (PCR) for COVID-19 infection, performed no more than 48 hours before entering the territory of that State.
Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that entry into Egypt will be allowed to persons arriving from Romania, based on the presentation of a negative molecular test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, performed a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in Egypt.
According to the information provided by the Egyptian authorities, this rule will also be imposed on passengers in transit at airports in Egypt, even if the state of final destination does not require the presentation of a negative test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection.
