Gatwick Airport in London boasts of the new equipment and machinery used for snow removal. Following yesterday's heavy snowfall, several airports in the UK have been suspended for air traffic for several hours. Gatwick was one of the few airports where the activity was normally conducted on the ground, in winter and snow conditions.

Gatwick is the second airport serving London, after Heathrow. In 2012, the airport was trafficked by over 34 millions of passengers. It turned out to have the runway with most aircraft movements per hour in Europe, up to 53 of the maximum 55 supported.
