Emirates has announced that, starting July 2, they will add a new route to Mexico City (MEX) to their operational network. There will be four weekly flights with a stopover in Barcelona (BCN). This new route will stimulate trade and tourism, while providing customers around the world with connectivity, convenience and choice.

The BCN-MEX route will be operated with a Boeing 777-200LR Emirates, with 38 seats in Business Class, in a 2-2-2 configuration and 264 seats in Economy Class.

The flights will be performed on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays:

The resumption of the Dubai-Barcelona-Mexico service will serve Emirates customers in Mexico and offer more options to travelers heading to Europe, India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East via Dubai or Barcelona. The service will also provide additional connectivity to global markets for Mexican exports, such as avocados, berries, mangoes, auto parts and medical supplies.

Emirates SkyCargo has been operating freight carriers to / from Mexico City since 2014, marking seven years of operations this month. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Emirates SkyCargo continued to operate cargo flights to Mexico City, transporting necessary vaccines to the country, while continuing to support exports from Mexico.
