After May 15, there will be no state of emergency in Romania. Will we be able to fly?
Today, The President of Romania, Mr Klaus Iohannis, went public and announced that it would not extend the state of emergency in Romania. So after May 15, there will be no state of emergency in Romania. But this does not mean that we will get rid of restrictions and rules. The alert status will be established.
We quote Mr. Klaus Iohannis: “Starting with May 15, the state of emergency will not be extended. But in order to keep the epidemic under control, we will enter a so-called state of alert. From May 15, dental offices, personal care salons and museums will reopen under special conditions of distance and hygiene.
We will also all wear a face mask when we are in closed public spaces and on public transport. Travel within the locality will be possible without declarations on your own responsibility, but will be restricted outside the locality, with a few exceptions - if they are in the interest of work, for medical problems and for individual sports, for example cycling.
Relaxation measures will be taken gradually, approximately every two weeks, because the situation has not improved yet and the epidemic has not passed. We must be very responsible and be very careful in the future!"
Will we be able to fly after May 15th?
But we are very interested in traveling, in flying. Will we be able to fly after May 15th? In theory, it will be possible to fly. Military Ordinance 10 suspended flights until May 14, ie during the state of emergency.
In practice there is still no answer with subject and predicate. We do not know if and under what conditions it will be possible to fly from / to Romania. Airlines Wizz Air, Blue Air, Ryanair and TAROM have activated flights in the system after May 14.
But it remains to be seen under what conditions we will be able to travel to different destinations in Europe. Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and many others have begun to relax the restrictions imposed on citizens. However, many countries are considering adopting the analysis bulletin for COVID-19. Into the Vienna airport will be tested for COVID for a fee, and the price will be 190 euros.
At the same time, many airlines have already announced special health and safety measures. The mask becomes mandatory on the plane. And, as the President announced, the mask will be mandatory in Romania after May 15. They are still being discussed rules and restrictions for air travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We recommend that you be careful and thoroughly document yourself if you plan your trips to / from Romania. We will announce and publish information from official sources and verified channels. We hope, like you, that we can fly as quickly and safely as possible.
