Earlier this month, easyjet has announced in Italy that it intends to open the Milan Malpensa - Bucharest route and to extend to Eastern Europe. Everything from March 2021. According www.malpensanews.it, easyJet plans to fly daily between Milan and Bucharest.

At the same time, easyJet announced the extension of operations from the Milan Malpensa base to Sicily. Easyjet will operate 7 flights a week on the Milan - Catania route and 5 flights on the Milan - Palermo route.

This expansion announced by easyJet is seen as a response to Wizz Air, which launched this year new base in Milan Malpensa.

EasyJet opened its Milan Malpensa base in 2006. To date, it has carried over 75 million passengers. And now it's time to explore new opportunities. Lorenzo Lagorio, the regional manager of easyJet, is confident in the new Milan - Bucharest route, but also in the expansion to Eastern Europe.

For Romania, easyJet is not a new company. He also flirted with some flights from / to Bucharest, but without much seniority. In 2013, easyJet withdrew from Romania, accusing that Romanians did not consume on board and the flights were no longer as profitable as those in the company's management expected. We know all too well that low-cost operators round off their revenues from products sold on board aircraft.

Let's see now if the situation will be different and we look forward to easyJet taking the Romanian market seriously. There are many opportunities and routes to exploit.
