From 20 September, unvaccinated travelers and those who have not been infected with coronavirus arriving in Switzerland must report a negative PCR test that was performed before arrival and another that was performed between days 4 and 7 after arrival in the country.
In addition, regardless of vaccination status, all passengers arriving in Switzerland must complete the SwissPLF, a passenger location form. The form allows the authorities to locate travelers living in the respective cantons and to determine whether they have been tested, according to the law.
However, passengers who have been given one of the vaccines approved by the Swiss medical authorities, who have tested positive in the last 30 days, as well as holders of an EU COVID-19 digital certificate are allowed to enter the country without quarantine restrictions. or testing.
As of 4 August, the Swiss authorities have imposed stricter restrictions on travelers from India, Nepal and the United Kingdom due to areas affected by the virus.
Passengers transiting Switzerland, drivers carrying persons or goods, cross-border commuters and persons entering border areas are also exempted from the testing requirements. Children under the age of 16 are also excluded from the testing requirement.
Moreover, all travelers arriving in Switzerland from EU countries / Schengen Area and other third countries that are on the EU list of countries with epidemiological certainty are allowed to enter the country. However, they must present a valid vaccination or recovery certificate or be willing to be tested twice.
The decision set by the Federal Council was announced on September 8 and will be valid until January 24, 2022.
