Embraer Legacy 450 has set a new speed record on a transatlantic flight
Embraer Legacy 450, a new business jet aircraft, has set a new speed record on a transatlantic flight operated between Portland, Maine in the United States and Farnborough in the United Kingdom.
On 7 March 2018, a new speed record was set on a transatlantic flight, which was operated by Embraer Legacy 450. The Embraer business jet aircraft flew on the Portland, Maine, United States - Farnborough, UK route. The record was validated by the US National Aeronautical Association (NAA) at the end of May 2018.
450 pilots and 2 passengers were aboard the Embraer Legacy 2 aircraft. The aircraft departed at 9: 25 (EST) from Portland International Jetport Airport (KPWM) and landed at Farnborough Airport (EGLF) at 20: 30 (GMT), reaching an average speed of 840 km / h.
The flight took 6 hours and 5 minutes, and the distance traveled was 5 105 kilometers. At the landing, Embraer Legacy 450 still had enough fuel in the tanks to cover critical situations and for NBAA IFR.
Embraer Legacy 450
Embraer Legacy 450 has flight range up to 5 378 kilometers with 4 passengers on board and with the NBAA IFR fuel reserve. It can reach a maximum speed of up to 0.83 mach (1017km / h) at a maximum altitude of 45000ft (13 716 meters).
The cabin of the Embraer Legacy 450 aircraft can be pressurized at an altitude felt by 1767 meters under maximum flight conditions. If the aircraft flies at an altitude of 27050 ft (8,24 kilometers), then the atmosphere at sea level can be set in the cabin.
The NAA confirmed the flight, and its data together with the air traffic control documentation were transmitted to the International Aeronautical Federation for validation.
