On March 7, 2018, a new speed record was set on a transatlantic flight, which was operated by the Embraer Legacy 450. The Embraer business jet aircraft flew on the route Portland, Maine, in the United States - Farnborough, in the United Kingdom. The record was validated by the US National Aeronautic Association (NAA) at the end of May 2018.

450 pilots and 2 passengers were aboard the Embraer Legacy 2 aircraft. The aircraft departed at 9: 25 (EST) from Portland International Jetport Airport (KPWM) and landed at Farnborough Airport (EGLF) at 20: 30 (GMT), reaching an average speed of 840 km / h.
