Emirates and Qantas have announced a global partnership

Emirates and Qantas, two of the largest airlines worldwide, signed an important partnership on 6 in September. The agreement was signed by Emirates President Tim Clark and Qantas CEO Alan Joyce. It will take effect from April 2013.

Qantas will move its base from Singapore to Dubai and use the 3 Emirates Terminal at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Together, Emirates and Qantas will offer 98 weekly flights between Dubai and Australia, including 4 daily flights with A380. They will operate together the largest fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft - 35 units (23 A380 Emirates and 12 A380 Qantas) to destinations in Europe such as: London, Paris, Moscow, Amsterdam, Munich and Rome.

Qantas will provide Emirates customers with an Australian network of 50 destinations and approximately 5000 weekly flights, including to Tasmania and New Zealand.
