Emirates SkyCargo has started using Airbus A380 aircraft for certain cargo operations. The first Emirates SkyCargo flight operated with the A380 successfully transported medical products between Seoul and Amsterdam, via Dubai.

Working in collaboration with Emirates' teams of engineers and flight operations, Emirates SkyCargo has optimized the capacity of the Airbus A380 to safely transport around 50 tonnes of cargo / flight.

Emirates SkyCargo has started using A380 aircraft following increased demand for freight needed during the pandemic of the new coronavirus.

Emirates SkyCargo operates cargo flights using Boeing 777F aircraft and 14 Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft, which have been modified to provide more cargo space.

Emirates SkyCargo recently announced that it has set up the world's largest COVID-19 vaccine hub. In addition to the infrastructure needed to store the vaccine, the facility could provide services for reassembly, freezing and redistribution of the vaccine.

Emirates SkyCargo has also set up a call center to coordinate vaccine transport requests.
