Emirates wants to adopt advanced digital solutions: blockchain, metaverse and cryptocurrency!

Emirates plans to adopt advanced digital solutions, such as blockchain, metaverse and cryptocurrency, as part of its strategy to communicate with customers more quickly and flexibly. 

Emirates will hire new technology staff to develop applications to monitor customer needs, Emirates chief operating officer Adel Ahmed Al-Redha told a news conference at Arabian Travel.

"NFTs and metaverses are two applications with different approaches," he said, adding that the airline will also try to use the blockchain to track aircraft registrations.

The executive has revealed that Emirates intends to use Bitcoin as a payment service and will add NFT collectibles to the company's websites for trading. 

The COO did not disclose when Emirates expects to implement the new payment service, but explained that the airline plans to launch metaverse and NFT to align the group's business with "the United Arab Emirates' vision for the digital economy". He added that they will adapt the blockchain technology to track the records of the airline's fleet.
