Emirates, widely regarded among the top airlines and beloved by millions of passengers, will now sail across seas and oceans with luxury cruise ships. Emirates launches Emirates Sealine.

Lucky ship watchers and cruise enthusiasts spotted the first cruise ship as it sailed majestically around Dubai's Palm Jumeirah.

Emirates Sealine promises passengers experiences like they have rarely imagined as they travel to ports of call rarely seen before. It has placed a titanic, multibillion-dollar order for its first 10 cruise ships, which are currently fitted with the latest and greatest interiors.

The first cruise is scheduled to depart the port of Dubai on April 1, 2024, with Karachi as the first port of call, following the airline's first flight in October 1985.

Itineraries and reservations will be open from June 31. Emirates Sealine ships will call at major cruise ports – charting a course from the US to New Zealand – supported by the airline's colossal network.

Emirates Sealine will set the industry pace for maritime sustainability by working with suppliers on sustainable marine fuel (SMF), solar panels, recycling and waste management.

Emirates passengers, arriving in style from the airline's global network in Dubai, will be transported by custom chauffeured electric cars from DXB to Dubai Port and escorted to their luxury cabins on board in a combination air-ground- perfect sea.

Emirates ships will have four types of cabins, offering varying levels of space, amenities and luxury. More details about products and services will be announced in the near future.

In the coming months, Emirates Sealine will recruit thousands of seafarers and specialists with a diverse range of skills and expertise to manage operations and serve passengers with the airline's signature hospitality, supporting savings across its network. Recruitment information will be available soon on Sealine's website.

And when we woke up, we saw that it was April 1st!
