Castellón – Costa Azahar Airport

About the airport, it will fly to Castellón – Costa Azahar. The airport is recognized as the "ghost airport". Officially, it was unveiled in 2011, but there were no airlines willing to fly from / to this airport until 2015.

Starting with September 2015 seasonally, RYANAIR broke the ice and began flying to London and Bristol. But these flights came under a European Union investigation because RYANAIR was receiving a grant from the regional government.

Airport costs amounted to 150 million EURO, an investment made without a real efficiency study. Moreover, the investment was made in a period of crisis for Spain. From here and many criticisms of local politicians.

Currently, towards Castellón – Costa Azahar Airport RYANAIR flies to London, Poznan and seasonally to Sofia; Blue Air flies seasonally to Bucharest.
