According to aviation information, I learned that the airline officials Emirates held discussions with different institutions and tourism agencies in Romania, the purpose being to start operating the flights on the route Bucharest - Dubai.
Following these discussions, it has not yet been established whether they will fly to Bucharest or not, but the tourism and aviation sources are optimistic. Conformable Mediafax, tourism sources say that Emirates could start operating the Bucharest - Dubai route this year. Aviation sources do not confirm or disprove. Everything is possible, maybe even from the winter season 2014-2015.
I still remain skeptical about the inauguration of the route in 2014. I would lean more for the summer season 2015, a period when Romanians also go more on vacation. Currently, we must keep in mind that the route Bucharest - Dubai is covered by TAROM, Wizz Air and FlyDubai (low-cost subsidiary Emirates). We must not neglect the fact that Emirates has a fleet consisting only of large and very large aircraft, the smallest aircraft being the Airbus A330-200 with a capacity of 237 seats.
