Etihad Airways has ordered 25 from 777X and 30 from 787-10 (Dubai Airshow 2013)

Dubai Airshow 2013 made its debut with an impressive order placed by the air carrier Etihad Airways. He opted for 25 aircraft 777X (17 777-9X and 8 777-8X) plus 12 options and 30 of 787-10 aircraft plus 12 options. The value of the order amounts to 26.7 billion dollars, at the list price. On this occasion, Etihad Airways becomes the launch customer of the 777-8X, being the first to order this type of aircraft.

Also by placing these orders, Etihad Airways becomes the air carrier with the highest order placed for airplanes Boeing 787, 71 of firm units plus 37 options. He ordered 30 units from the 787-10, the largest model in the Dreamliner family, adding these to the 41 units previously ordered.

By placing this order by Etihad Airways, Boeing announced that 787 Dreamliner has exceeded 1000 threshold for controlled aircraft so far, since its launch in 2004. 787 has reached this threshold much faster than any other two-color aircraft in civil aviation history. Etihad Airways also opted for an 777 Freighter cargo plane, with the option for two other 777Fs.

This year, Etihad Airways is celebrating 10 years of flights and is enjoying a rapid growth of fleet and network in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America. Because we are talking about Boeing, Etihad Airways has 17 777-300ER and 3 777F aircraft in its fleet.
