A triple premiere took place at Dortmund airport: Germany's leading holiday airline, Eurowings, took off for the first time to new destinations, Malaga, Alicante and Catania.

The flights are part of Eurowings' extensive operational program of attractive holiday destinations and complement the company's existing connections to popular holiday island Mallorca in Spain, and to Split, Croatia. Eurowings will also launch new routes in the coming days to Naples, Heraklion, Kavala and Rhodes. For the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, Eurowings plans more than 280 departures from Dortmund, offering a capacity of over 48.000 seats.

As part of the extended summer program, Eurowings is now stationing a second aircraft in the Ruhr metropolis. It is about the Airbus aircraft, "BVB Mannschafts" - aircraft known throughout Europe due to the special livery, black and yellow. "BVB Mannschafts-Airbus" was greeted with the traditional water salute by airport firefighters on arrival in Dortmund. Subsequently, the Airbus A320 aircraft, registered D-AIZR, took off from Dortmund to Alicante, Spain, and the aircraft was full.
