All are ready for take-off from Berlin Brandenburg Airport. From May 1, Eurowings has its own base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) where he parked three Airbus A320 planes. With the establishment of the Berlin base, Eurowings expands its commitment to the city of Berlin and strengthens the Lufthansa Group's position in the capital. More than a hundred jobs have been created through the new BER base, allowing many Berlin-born pilots and flight attendants to return home.

In the coming weeks, Eurowings passengers will fly from the capital to Cologne Bonn, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Palma de Mallorca, Heraklion, Gran Canaria and Beirut, among other destinations. In the summer months, Eurowings intends to extend its flight schedule again with new flights to popular holiday destinations in Corsica, Croatia, Egypt and Austria.

Eurowings inaugurated the Berlin Brandenburg base on May 1.

In the context of a significant increase in the number of vaccinations, the demand for holidays has increased at the same time. The airline recorded an average 35% increase in bookings on all routes in Berlin. Recreational flights to Mallorca (up to 80%) and Crete are in high demand. This clearly shows that the Germans have their luggage already packed and long for a well-deserved holiday.

Despite the massive reduction in the flight schedule due to the crisis, Eurowings has already flown more than 1600 times from the capital since the opening of BER. Regarding the summer holidays, the forecast is cautiously optimistic, due to current developments, according to which more citizens of Berlin and Brandenburg will soon be able to fly to their holiday destination, once the restrictions are removed.
