Summer holidays will start soon in Baden-Württemberg. In recent weeks, Eurowings and its employees have been working hard with their partners at Stuttgart Airport to prepare for the start of the most wonderful time of the year. After this period full of restrictions, the desire to travel is greater this summer than it was in previous years.

Due to the increasing vaccination rate, the demand for flights has increased significantly. The required tourist destinations are Spain, Greece and Croatia. Eurowings responded to this increase in demand by successively expanding its flight schedule and expanding its operational network in Stuttgart, the largest Eurowings base in southwestern Germany, by 40% during the summer season.

Eurowings takes off from Stuttgart to over 60 destinations.

From Stuttgart, Eurowings offers travelers the widest range of flights during the summer holidays: over 60 destinations in 18 countries. In the first weekend, Eurowings is waiting for about 25.000 passengers at the airport in the state capital. In total, Eurowings will operate more than 1.800 flights from Stuttgart. Even though Eurowings offers much of its original portfolio of routes during the summer, the 2021 program will comprise only 2/3 of pre-coronavirus capacity.

With the expansion of the summer supply, the fleet of active aircraft is also growing. Starting in August, Eurowings will operate flights with 15 aircraft from the Stuttgart base, the second largest Eurowings base in terms of the number of aircraft allocated. Across Europe, more than 80 planes will fly to Eurowings in the middle of summer.

Eurowings will have over 40 weekly flights from Stuttgart to Mallorca.

With its wide range of holiday offers, Eurowings is positioning itself as the largest holiday airline in Germany on short and medium distance routes for the beginning of summer 2021. Mallorca continues to be very popular with travelers and is on the list of the most popular destinations of Eurowings in 2021.

From Stuttgart alone, Eurowings flies to the island up to six times a day during the summer season. In total, Eurowings connects 24 airports in Germany and Austria with popular holiday destinations and is the airline with the most flights to Mallorca, 300 flights per week.

Heraklion and Thessaloniki, Ibiza and Malaga also enjoy strong demand and are served daily. Other destinations include Sardinia, Croatia, Sicily and the smaller Greek islands or Athens, Barcelona or Budapest.
