EVA AIR joins the Star Alliance, from 18 June 2013

In 2012, EVA AIR and Star Alliance have signed a treaty by which the Taiwanese airline operator can adhere fully to the largest airline alliance in the world. Mark Schwab, CEO of Star Alliance, also attended the signing ceremony.

On 20 April 2013, at a conference in Taipei, EVA Airways Corp. announced that everything goes according to plan and 18 June will join with full rights to the great alliance Star Alliance.

EVA AIR is Taiwan's second-largest airline after China Airlines, the latter joining SkyTeam in 2012, becoming the 15 member of the alliance.

At the moment, EVA AIR operates flights to 60 from destinations in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. By joining the Star Alliance, EVA AIR will provide new passenger services and quick access to a global network of over 1300 destinations, from 191 countries.
