The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is in the final stages of reviewing the proposed changes Boeing 737 MAX. FAA Administrator Steve Dickson, told Reuters that is to lift the ground arrest warrant for the aircraft from 18 November.
Boeing fixed the safety problems of the 737 MAX model, problems that caused 2 plane crashes that killed 346 people.
737 MAX will be able to return to flight on November 18, 2020.
This flight permit would be a major step in the recovery of the Boeing manufacturer. The company is plunged into the worst financial crisis in history, due to the grounding of the best-selling aircraft in 2019 worldwide.
Southwest Airlines, the world's largest 737 MAX aircraft operator, said it would take several months to comply with FAA requirements and did not plan to schedule aircraft flights earlier than the second quarter of 2021.
The grounding of these aircraft cost billions of dollars. Airlines will need to provide software updates and new pilot training. This process will take at least 30 days.
As the coronavirus pandemic exacerbated the MAX crisis, Boeing cut production and laid off thousands of employees. Negotiations with airlines have been suspended for the delivery of approximately 450 737 MAX aircraft already manufactured.
Boeing declined to comment on information speculated by the international press.
