Finnair, one of the largest airlines in Finland, has announced that, starting with August 16, fabric / improvised masks will no longer be allowed on their flights.

According to a statement released by the company, it was noted that since fabric / improvised face masks are not as effective as surgical masks when it comes to protecting passengers from exposure to infection, they should be replaced with a more effective option. Hi.

"Starting with August 16, we will no longer accept fabric masks on our flights. We accept surgical masks, valveless FFP2 or FFP3 respirators or other valveless masks with the same standard (N95). We remind you that the mask is mandatory throughout the trip " , is shown in the Finnair statement.

"The mask can only be removed for a limited period of time, such as when eating or hydrating. Please make sure you always wear a mask when interacting with Finnair employees, whether you are at the airport or on board. ” added Finnair.

In addition, passengers who have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask should inform the airport at least 72 hours before the flight.

Finland currently maintains strict restrictions against all passengers who have not been vaccinated or recovered from infection with the new coronavirus. On the other hand, those who provide a digital vaccination or recovery certificate are allowed unrestricted entry.
