The first Airbus A350-900 Iberia, in the final assembly phase

Information about the first Airbus A350 XWB Iberia appeared. It has entered the final assembly phase at the Toulouse production line.

Iberia, an air carrier from the International Airlines Group (IAG), will receive 16 aircraft of the Airbus A350-900 type. The first A350 XWB aircraft entered the assembly phase, with the fuselage wings being joined and the horizontal and vertical stabilizers installed.

Next is the mounting of the engines and the installation of the interior. Then the ground and air tests will follow. There are standard procedures that all commercial aircraft go through. If all goes well, the plane takes over the Airbus Delivery Center and follows the delivery.

Iberia operates a fleet driven only by Airbus aircraft. The new A350-900 will gradually replace older Airbus A340-600 aircraft.

The new A350 XWB will come equipped in 3 classes and will be able to carry up to 348 passengers: 31 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 293 seats in Economy Class.
