Traffic resumes between France and the United Kingdom, only on the basis of a negative COVID-19 test

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports the adoption by the French authorities of the decision to allow, from 23 December 2020, 00.01 (French time) the unblocking of traffic from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the French Republic.

According to the information sent publicly by the French Government tonight, will be allowed to travel from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the French Republic or to transit through the French Republic, for French and European Union citizens, including the Romanians, as well as for British or third-country nationals residing in France, the European Union or other European countries.

You can only travel from the UK to France based on a negative COVID-19 test

Persons in the above categories are required to submit a negative test for COVID-19 infection, performed a maximum of 72 hours before travel.

All passengers are required to submit to the air, sea or rail company a document issued by a medical laboratory attesting to the negative test result for COVID-19.

Both PCR and antigen tests that are sensitive to the new coronavirus strain are accepted.. The list of accepted antigen tests is to be published by the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

These regulations shall remain in force until at least January 6, 2021, subject to possible revaluation at bilateral or European level.

The conditions for the resumption of road haulage will be communicated by the French authorities as soon as possible.
