Lufthansa, the largest air carrier in Europe, landed for the first time in the capital of Moldova, Iasi, on July 2. The first route inaugurated by the new company is to FRANKFURT. Thus, Iasi becomes the only airport in the region of Moldova where the flights of the German operator are operating.
The second airline within the Lufthansa Group will perform four weekly flights from Iasi Airport to its Frankfurt hub, which provides connections for transcontinental flights as well as flights to other European airports. The flight time from Iasi to Frankfurt is 2 hours and 25 minutes.

On Thursdays and Sundays, flights will be operated according to the following schedule:

Launch event of the new direct flight Iasi - Frankfurt (and return) was marked by a press conference, which took place in the public area of the T3 terminal, attended by local authorities, the airport administration, representatives of the airline, as well as representatives of the local cultural and business environment.
The guests cut the themed cake and the ribbon at the inauguration of the new route, together with the airline crew, and the festivity ended with the traditional water health of the Luthansa aircraft, at the time of landing on the runway in Iași.
