Garuda Indonesia will join SkyTeam on 5 March 2014

On 16 December 2013, SkyTeam announced the date on which Garuda Indonesia will adhere with full rights to the alliance. The 20 member will join the SkyTeam alliance on the 5 March 2014 and will be the second member of the Southeast Asia area.

By joining Garuda Indonesia's SkyTeam airline, members of this alliance will be able to travel much easier to Indonesia. Garuda flies from Jakarta to 7 SkyTeam hubs: Seoul, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Amsterdam.
