Germany has put Romania on the red list. Quarantine 10 days for unvaccinated people!

The German authorities have revised the conditions for entry into Germany, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, starting with October 3, at 00:00. According to the new regulations, Romanians who present upon entering Germany only the document certifying a negative COVID result will be quarantined for a period of 10 days.

Thus, Romania has been included in the list of areas with high epidemiological risk, and people arriving from Romania can enter Germany under the following conditions:

1. Presentation of one of the following 3 documents:

  • document attesting to the negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. PCR tests (performed with a maximum of 72 hours before arrival) and antigen tests (performed with a maximum of 48 hours before arrival) are accepted. Children up to 12 years of age are exempted from testing for SARS-CoV-2 infection;
  • document certifying the completion of the complete vaccination schedule against COVID-19 with one of the EU-approved vaccines, provided that at least 14 days have elapsed since the booster dose or single dose (for the single dose vaccine). It is not mandatory to present the green certificate;
  • document attesting to the passage through the disease (infection with the SARS-VOC-2 virus). It must have been issued by a medical laboratory within a period of at least 28 days and at most 6 months prior to entry into the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. The cumulative presentation of the document certifying the transition to the disease, together with the one certifying the vaccination with at least one dose of a vaccine approved at European Union level, is also allowed.
  • The above documents must be written in one of the languages ​​German, English, French, Italian or Spanish and may be submitted in physical or electronic format.

2. Registration, prior to travel, via the platform https://einreiseanmeldung.de. This obligation is also valid for the persons who were on the Romanian territory in the last 10 days before the trip.

In exceptional cases, where online registration through the portal is not possible, passengers must complete the registration on paper.

People who present only the document proving a negative result for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection when entering Germany will be quarantined for a period of 10 days and have the obligation, immediately upon arrival, to go directly to their home.

The quarantine measure may be terminated in advance, after a period of at least 5 days, if the person concerned has undergone a new test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, the result of which is negative.

Children up to 12 years old have the obligation to remain in quarantine 5 days after entering the territory of Germany.

In the case of persons who have a document attesting to the completion of the complete vaccination schedule against COVID-19 or a document attesting to the passage of the disease and for any reason cannot register it on the said platform or present at the time of entry, are obliged to enter quarantine.

Quarantine may be interrupted if the person concerned transmits via the platform https://einreiseanmeldung.de, the document confirming vaccination or passing the disease.

The following categories of persons are mainly exempted from the measure of prior registration on the platform https://einreiseanmeldung.de and from the measure of compulsory quarantine:

  • persons in transit;
  • transport workers;
  • members of official delegations;
  • persons traveling to the Federal Republic of Germany to be treated for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection;
  • people who have spent less than 24 hours in a high-risk area or area with viruses (www.rki.de - risk areas) or enter the Federal Republic of Germany for less than 24 hours under the border traffic regime, as well as cross-border workers, etc .;
  • people traveling for stays of less than 72 hours to visit first-degree relatives.
