Greece is tightening conditions for entry.
The new regulations announced by the Greek authorities apply, in addition to the previous ones, to the following categories of persons: citizens traveling for essential purposes to the Hellenic Republic and who were previously exempted from the obligation to take the test for COVID-19 (including carriers of goods and persons), Greek nationals and foreign nationals residing in the Hellenic Republic.
Regarding the access of people arriving in the Hellenic Republic of Romania by air, they must test negative for COVID-19, taken 72 hours before the time of entry into the Hellenic Republic (for Romania, this provision previously applied only to non-essential travel). This measure shall apply at the same time to all persons traveling from Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates and Malta.
However, starting with August 17, 2020, all categories of persons entering the territory of Greece by air from Sweden, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Albania and Northern Macedonia must present a negative molecular test for SARS-CoV-2 infection, taken 72 hours before entering the territory of this state.
All these measures are valid until 31 August 2020
All such measures shall be valid until 31 August 2020, provided that they may be amended at any time without notice by the competent Greek authorities.
The MFA reminds that the tests must be performed in accredited laboratories in the country of origin, and the certificates must be presented in English and contain the name and surname of the person tested, as well as the series and number of the person's identity card or passport. The presentation of a certificate attesting the negative result of the COVID-19 test does not exclude the random testing procedure nor the completion of the electronic form PLF / Passenger Locator Form and the presentation of the QR code.
The form is available in English at: https://travel.gov.gr, where the travel conditions valid for this period are also available.
