As of April 19, Greece is opening 9 airports for non-essential (tourist) flights in the EU and 5 other non-EU countries. In the first phase, it seems that the opening will be for flights from EU countries, as well as from a limited number of other 5 countries, such as the USA, Great Britain, United Arab Emirates, Serbia and Israel.

An official confirmed to Reuters on Wednesday that the Athens authorities had decided to lift the quarantine for several passengers, but also to open airports in Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu, as well as two land points. crossing the border.

According to existing information in the Greek press, Greece raises the quarantine measure, but entry into the country will only be allowed under certain conditions: vaccination certificate or PCR test performed up to 72 hours before the trip. It is mandatory to fill in the Passenger Location Form (PLF) 24 hours before the trip.

Official, Greece has announced the opening of the tourist season starting May 14. But there is a desire of the authorities to open "unofficially" the tourism sector starting with mid-April, in a restricted, experimental form. The Netherlands will send a group of 189 passengers to Rhodes for a test holiday.

Romanians are also eager to arrive in Greece, many already buying a tourist package for Easter. Greek authorities are doing their best to attract as many tourists as possible in the summer of 2021, but they do not want to compromise on health security.
