Greece relaxes travel conditions for those traveling from the US, Canada and Australia!

Travelers from the United States, Canada and Australia are no longer required to take a negative test upon arrival in Greece, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said.

According to a press release issued by the authority, travelers from these countries will be allowed to enter the country with the same requirement as holders of the EU COVID-19 Digital Certificate (EUDCC).

This means that all travelers from the US, Canada and Australia can enter Greece with one of the following documents:

  • Vaccination certificate valid (maximum nine months) after the primary vaccination course and with unlimited validity for travelers who have received the booster dose.
  • Certificate of illness valid for 180 days.
  • Certificate of a PCR test performed within 72 hours of departure or antigen test performed 24 hours prior to arrival.

Other countries whose passengers may enter Greece exempt from the additional test requirement include the following countries:

EU / Schengen Area, San Marino, Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Vatican, Northern Macedonia, Georgia, Switzerland, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Lebanon, Morocco, Montenegro, Moldova, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Ukraine, Uruguay, Panama, Cape Verde, Serbia, Singapore, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, Tunisia, Faroe Islands and Taiwan.

In addition, regardless of vaccination status, travelers from all countries must complete the mandatory passenger location form before arriving in Greece.

"If the tests indicate a positive passenger, the quarantine / isolation shall be valid for five days, at home or in an appropriate temporary place of residence indicated by the competent authorities. The temporary restriction begins the day after their diagnosis is positive for COVID-19 coronavirus. ” , explains the Greek authorities.
