Sometimes I have to come up with less pleasant news. Today, 21 March 2013, Lufthansa personnel go on strike, about 33 000 people. Many domestic and European flights have been canceled. The fate of long-haul flights is not yet known, but they are likely to be honored without problems.

The strike will take place between 5 (6 in Romania) and 12 (13 in Romania) at Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. If you have scheduled flights today with Lufthansa, contact your airline or the agencies through which you purchased your tickets and check the status of your flights.

The German operator will seek solutions to lessen the impact of the strike on passengers. But estimates show that over 500 flights will be canceled from 6 German airports.
