Lufthansa Group and Berlin-Brandenburg Airport presented the first figures just over a month after opening of BER airport. The relocation of the Lufthansa Group airlines went according to plan and the operating procedures work very well with the current low traffic volume.

Lufthansa Group operates from North Pier in Terminal 1, which is within walking distance of the Lufthansa Lounge and the new WorldShop flagship store.

Also, the beginning of the flight operations went very well. Currently, the group's airlines offer about 38% of all flights operated from BER.

Out of a total of 1.700 departures and arrivals recorded in November, approximately 650 were operated by the Lufthansa Group.

Eurowings has positioned itself very well in these turbulent times of the pandemic, with around 300 connections from the BER in November. Eurowings flies at least three times a day to Cologne / Bonn, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.

At the same time, Eurowings has expanded its operations to the Canary Islands, and the December flight schedule highlights this trend. By the end of the year, Eurowings will complete more than 1.200 flights to and from Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.

Since September, the Lufthansa Group has been the market leader in Berlin. Currently, five airlines of the group fly to BER (Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings). Air Dolomiti will also add BER to its flight schedule in the 2021 summer season.
