GullivAir has obtained the necessary approvals to open routes to destinations in North America. The newest airline registered in Bulgaria, GullivAir, has received permission to start flights to destinations in the US and Canada, informs routesonline.com.

GullivAir, a company that owns two Airbus A330-200 aircraft, has been authorized by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Canadian Transportation Agency to operate frequent flights and charters to / from those countries.

In a request to the US Department of Transportation (DOT), GullivAir CEO Georgi Kolev said the new airline intends to start frequent service between Sofia and New York. GullivAir hopes to operate up to 3 flights a week between Sofia (SOF) and New York's John F Kennedy (JFK).

If this is done, GullivAir will be the only non-stop flight provider between Bulgaria and the US. Saber Market Intelligence data show that in 2019, about 210 passengers traveled between Bulgaria and the US. But all flights stopped at major hubs in Europe such as Frankfurt, Munich and Istanbul. Chicago (000 passengers), New York (17800 passengers) and Washington (16300 passengers), the top 7800 cities in the USA to which it flew (with a stopover) from Bulgaria.

Regarding destinations in Canada, GullivAir has not yet mentioned them. But Toronto was the largest market, with 7800 passengers flying from Bulgaria.

We mention that the new air operator GullivAir received the AOC from the Bulgarian Civil Aviation Administration in September, given that the first Airbus A330-200 was received in August 2020.

We remind you that thanks to this airline and in collaboration with Karpaten, Romania has non-stop flights to the Maldives and the Dominican Republic. You can find some more information at Caesar!
