IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) NO. 246 / 2013 OF THE COMMISSION from 19 March 2013 amending Regulation (EU) no. 185 / 2010 regarding the security control of liquids, aerosols and gels at EU airports.
The new requirements do not significantly change the transport rules applicable to liquids, aerosols and gels carried in hand luggage. Keep the quantity restriction to 100 ml per container (maximum 1l), as well as the transport of medicines, special diet foods and copies needed during a flight.
Starting with 31 January 2014, the liquids allowed to be carried in hand luggage are compulsorily examined using liquid analysis equipment at departure and / or transfer airports.
When carrying out the check, the security personnel may ask the passengers for proof of the authenticity of the products or the opening of the containers in which the liquids are located and may refuse their transport.
The only liquids, aerosols and gels that can still be carried without restriction in the hand baggage are those in individual containers of maximum 100 ml and placed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag, the volume of which must not be to exceed 1 liter.
All these products must be taken out of hand luggage and presented separately to the security control.
Bucharest National Airports Company makes available the structures responsible for conducting the security control special equipment for liquid control. These will be placed on dedicated filters, which passengers will be able to identify with the help of traffic signs or airport personnel.
Until then, the other liquids, gels and aerosols that do not fall into the mentioned categories will be transported only in the hold baggage.
TRANSPORT OF LIQUID PURCHASED FROM EXTRA-COMMUNITY COUNTRIES
Passengers on the transfer who purchase liquids from countries outside the EU or on board aircraft will be able to transport these liquids to any EU connection airport.
LIQUID TRANSPORT WILL BE GRADUALLY LIBERALIZED
The new methods of analyzing liquids, aerosols and gels are aimed at gradually lifting restrictions on the transport of liquids in hand luggage, a decision to be taken by regulatory authorities at the level of the European Commission.
