Airports Council International issued a report on the traffic on 190 from European airports, representing 88% of the total traffic in Europe. In the top of the increases there are also two airports in Romania, according to economica.net.

The first one is Henri Coandă Otopeni International Airport. In September 2012, the airport increased passenger traffic by 44.7% compared to the same period in 2011. This is also due to the relocation of the operations of the low-cost airlines from Baneasa Airport, from 25 to March 2012. After inauguration of the new terminal departures, traffic is estimated to exceed 8 million passengers in 2013. Next year we will attend the opening of new routes departing from Otopeni Airport and, with some luck, it is possible to see new airlines.

Wizz Air will open 3 new routes departing from Bucharest to Alghero, Geneva and Oslo, since May. TAP Portugal the frequency of flights to Lisbon will increase. It is possible to see an intensification of the activity on the part FlyDubai on the Bucharest-Dubai route.  According to the AirBerlin strategy, it is possible that from 2013 we will have more routes to Berlin. An interesting year is announced for the aviation industry in Romania and for Henri Coandă International Airport.

The second airport is the one in Arad. It registered an increase of 1.383,7% in September 2012 and this is due to the operator Wizz Air which resumed the flights on the route Arad - Milan Bergamo. In percentage it seems an amazing increase, in reality it is an increase from zero to something, so without too much enthusiasm.
