Iasi - Milan (Bergamo) with TAROM, from June 4, 2014
After Vienna, Rome, Turin, Bologna, London and Tel Aviv, the Iasi will have a new direct external air link. Orio al Serio Airport (Bergamo), which will connect with the Iasi airport, is located at 45 kilometers from Milan, an important economic center of the world and the headquarters of the Italian Stock Exchange.
"Today, the people of Iași, but also the other inhabitants of Moldova, have a new reason to rejoice. From June 4, a new direct flight to Milan - Bergamo will become operational. This new route will be operated by TAROM, our main partner at Iasi Airport. It will have two frequencies per week, Wednesday and Friday, and the tariffs announced at this time are much more competitive than what is practiced at other airports in the area of Moldova. Bergamo - Milan is a region where there is an important community of Romanians, and the opening of this new route mediates the movement of our fellow citizens. It must also be seen as a business and tourism destination, as Milan is a financial capital of Europe ", said Mr. MARIUS BODEA, President of the Board of Directors of Iasi Airport.
He added that during this year TAROM company intends to open a new direct flight from Iasi Airport.
"It is a direct flight to Venice, possible to be operational from the winter program or, if things are going in the right direction, even this summer. In this way, the strategy of covering the entire northern half of Italy, an area in which there are many Romanians, is fulfilled. At this moment, the destination of Venice is operating only from the Chisinau Airport, and many of our citizens travel to the Republic of Moldova to reach this destination, said Mr. Marius BODEA. ”
Iași - Bergamo race will have the program:
Wednesdays and Fridays (every Wednesday and every Friday)
Exit 06.20 - 07.55 Bergamo
Bergamo 08.45 - 12.10 Iasi
For a trip between June 4 and 11, the ticket price is 120 euros / person. The flights will be operated with the Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
TAROM enjoys the lack of low-cost competitors in Iasi and is taking advantage to strengthen its position on the Moldovan market. I expect new destinations operated by TAROM departing from Iasi.
