Iberia and Air Nostrum - in general strike on March 29

I hate to give you bad news, but you have to know that the airline Iberia and Air Nostrum will enter general strike on 29 March. Airlines announced the suspension of over 200 flights from each.

The agreement regarding the minimum service in air transport, concluded between the two main trade unions UGT and CCOO and the Ministry of Development will be respected. It provides that 10% of flights from the peninsula and 50% of flights to or from the Canary and Balearic Islands will be provided. The agreement also provides for 20% of flights to or from other European countries and 40% from outside Europe.

The two companies have called for a strike to protest the labor reform, which they consider "useless, inefficient and unfair", and the Government's policy aimed at reducing the public deficit from 8,5% of GDP at the end of 2001, to 5,3% at the end of 2012.

I can say that Iberia employees are the most dissatisfied in 2012. Some time ago they went on strike against the company Iberia Express, a new low-cost operator from Iberia. Now I'm on strike because of political discontent. There is also the strike of Iberia pilots on all days of Monday and Friday, between 9 April and 20 July, the reason being all Iberia Express.

I recommend that you take great care when and how you get your tickets. I'll come back with new information!
