IMPORTANT - From July 9, Romanians need a negative COVID-19 test to enter Austria or will go into isolation for 14 days.

We have official information from the Romanian Embassy in Austria. The information I presented to you this morning has come true. Austria has imposed new travel restrictions on Romanian citizens, Moldova and Bulgaria. Below is the official information from the embassy.

Due to the epidemiological situation, starting from 09.07.2020, at 00.00, access of Romanian citizens to Austria is possible only if they have a negative molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 (PCR, RT), not older than 4 days, in German or English.

In his absence, those people and those with whom they live together are obliged to undergo isolation / quarantine for 14 days at home (or hotel), immediately after entering Austria.

If a molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 performed during the isolation / quarantine period is negative, the isolation / quarantine instituted during the 14 days is suspended.

This regime also applies to Romanian tourists. The restrictions do not apply to professional hauliers.

TRANSIT: Permanent transit, without stopping, of Romanian citizens on the territory of Austria to destinations in other countries is allowed.. If the transit is from Romania, documents must be presented proving permission to enter the territory of the destination country (domicile / residence / right of residence / employment contract / any other proof of the need for entry, for example certificate of necessary medical treatment, studies, etc. .).
