Currently, Timisoara has air links with 16 major destinations in six European countries, of which two airports (Bucharest and Munich) also offer connecting flights, practically to the whole world.

As for freight traffic, during the year 2015 registered an increase of 35% compared to the previous year, being processed a number of 2606 tonnes. An extremely important event in 2015, for both Timisoara International Airport and the western part of the country, is the launch of the DHL terminal at the airport.
