During the winter program (October 25 - March 28, 2021), Lufthansa has decided to allocate 4 A350 XWB aircraft to the Frankfurt base. They will fly to destinations in Chicago, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

In the coming months, the Airbus A350-900 aircraft will fly to Chicago and Los Angeles, temporarily replacing the Boeing 747-8. From December, the ultra-modern A350-900 will also fly from Frankfurt to Tokyo / Haneda instead of the Airbus A340-300 aircraft. All flights will be operated by crew from the Munich base.

The Lufthansa fleet includes 16 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which are based in Munich. Due to the reduction in the number of flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only 7 A350-900 aircraft will initially be operated from Munich, in the winter schedule of 20/21. They will fly on routes to North America and Asia.

Of the total of 16 A350-900 aircraft, only 11 will be used by Lufthansa in the 2020-2021 winter season, the rest being kept as reserves.

We I tested the Airbus A350-900 Lufthansa aircraft and we recommend you to read the article made after the flight Munich - Budapest. If you have flights to choose from, do not hesitate to choose A350-900.
