Boeing 737-400-YR-BAS-Incident

Around 13: 00, approximately 5 hours after the incident involving the Boeing 737-400 (YR-BAS) aircraft, Cluj-Napoca "Avram Iancu" International Airport issued a brief press release.

The runway of "Avram Iancu" Cluj International Airport is closed to air traffic due to an incident that took place today, 07 January 2016, at approximately 08: 00. The incident did not result in injury to any person and no material damage was recorded.

The incident involved a B737-400 plane of the Blue Air company operating a charter flight on the Otopeni-Barcelona route, with a stopover at Cluj International Airport. On board the aircraft were 110 passengers and 6 crew members at the time of the incident. The aircraft landed under a properly operational runway and exited at the 07 end of the runway, off the concrete surface. The airport runway is currently closed to traffic in accordance with standard civil aviation procedures in such situations.

Starting with 06 time: 17, until the time of the incident, a number of 7 flights were operated.
