At around 13:00, approximately 5 hours after the incident involving the Boeing 737-400 aircraft (YR-BAS), the "Avram Iancu" International Airport in Cluj-Napoca issued a short press release.

The runway of "Avram Iancu" Cluj International Airport is closed to air traffic due to an incident that took place today, 07 January 2016, at approximately 08: 00. The incident did not result in injury to any person and no material damage was recorded.

A B737-400 plane of the Blue Air company was involved in the incident, operating a charter flight on the route Otopeni - Barcelona, ​​with a stopover at Cluj International Airport. At the time of the incident, 110 passengers and 6 crew members were on board. The aircraft landed under the conditions of an operationally appropriate runway and took off at the 07th end of the runway, outside the concrete surface. The airport runway is currently closed to traffic according to standard civil aviation procedures in such situations.

Starting with 06 time: 17, until the time of the incident, a number of 7 flights were operated.
