Lion Air incidents, JT714 flight, Jakarta - Pontianak route

During this day, a Boeing 737-800 Lion Air aircraft went off the runway at Pontianak-Supadio Airport.

The Boeing 737-800 (PK-LPS) aircraft operates the JT714 flight on the Jakarta - Pontianak route. On board were 189 passengers and 5 crew members.

At the time of the incident, the track was wet. It was raining heavily and visibility was low. Immediately after the touchdown, the aircraft went off the runway, remaining stuck in the mud.

There were no persons injured as a result of this incident. The passengers were disembarked on the front slide and removed from the aircraft.

Following the incident, the runway was blocked and the authorities are working to remove the aircraft from the mocirloosa area.
