Innovation plays a key role in the evolution of any industry, especially in aviation. Major aircraft manufacturers are researching and innovating to develop the aircraft of the future.

In September, Airbus introduced 3 models of zero-emission aircraft, the propulsion being provided by hydrogen. In one of the models presented, which is very similar to the current Airbus A350 XWB, I noticed that the wings are atypical. The tips of the wings seem to be from another movie.

And with the flight operated by the Airbus AlbatrossONE prototype, we were able to better understand the innovation. Airbus engineers are studying how the famous seabird - the Albatross - moves. It can fly very long distances without much effort.

The key lies in the flexible wings, more precisely in the tips of the wings. This latest test campaign demonstrates that the tips of semi-aeroelastic wings are able to react and flex in gusts of wind, decreasing in-flight resistance and increasing aircraft performance.

New innovative technology has potential for the planes of the future!
