Interjet, a low-cost operator from Lomas de Chapultepec, Miguel Hidalgo, Mexico City, Mexico, has placed a firm order for 40 aircraft Airbus A320neo. The type of engines will be presented at a later date. The Mexican airline currently has a fleet of 36 aircraft Airbus A320-200, which is easy to manage and maintain, and operates to 32 destinations.

In just 7 years of activity, Interjet became a leader in Mexico after expanding its network to the United States, Central America and the Caribbean. The new aircraft will support the progressive growth of the network, but will also be a refresh to the fleet.

The new A320neo is the most efficient single-aisle aircraft, this one in the Airbus vision, and has been ordered so far in 1500 copies. With a little luck, the new type of aircraft will take action from 2015.
