On the second day of the Paris Air Show 2019, for us, the biggest surprise came from the International Airlines Group (IAG), which expressed its intention to buy 200 from Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
International Airlines Group (IAG) is made up of renowned airlines, including British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Level.
The 200 of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft could reach the fleets of IAG member companies, including Vueling and LEVEL. The transaction was valued at 24 billion dollars, at list price.
However, given the uncertain situation of 737 MAX aircraft, we can assume that IAG negotiated its transaction very well, maybe even at a preferential price.

IAG affiliated airlines carry over 113 million passengers annually to 256 destinations. The IAG fleet counts over 580 aircraft. On long-haul flights, most aircraft are from Boeing, especially the 777. Earlier this year, IAG placed an order for the new Boeing 777X, but also for the 787 Dreamliner.
On short and medium flights, IAG companies mainly use Airbus aircraft. In a bid to buy 737 MAX aircraft, IAG CEO Willie Walsh said he wants to diversify fleets and stimulate competition.
IAG officials have announced they will be opting for the 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 10 models. But they have not yet presented the exact division. And let us not forget that this is a letter of intent, not a firm order.
By signing this agreement, we can say that IAG brings an extra image and confidence to the 737 MAX. Which has been wrinkled in recent months.
