Iraqi Airways has acquired the first Boeing 737-800 Next Generation
On 12 August 2013, Iraqi Airways it came into the possession of the first Boeing 737-800 Next Generation. The ceremony took place at Boeing Base in Seattle. The aircraft is part of an 30 order of units placed in 2008. Currently, Iraqi Airways still has 39 aircraft orders, 29 737-800 NG and 10 787 Dreamliner.
Iraqi Airways plans to modernize and expand the fleet. The new 737-800 will be used on regional and international routes. Iraqi Airways owns a fleet of 22 planes and flies to 32 destinations.
